There is a point every year at Download Festival where the logic breaks. And that point is not even within the main stage radius area, but at Download’s District X, a space adjacent to the arena that doesn’t quite follow the same rules. It’s not a side attraction, but a parallel system that somehow hosts the pre- and after-parties and all the moments in between. If you thought Download was an endurance race of minimal sleep and maximum outbreak, then District X is where your endurance really gets tested. In 2025, we had a pre-party with Venga Boys hosting about 10,000 people under the same tent, as well as some DJ sets, secret acts like Boston Manor, and midnight jams with Funeral For a Friend to keep the party going. This year, District X brings an even bigger party to the table.

Start with the anomaly: Five. On paper, it makes no sense having a 90s boyband playing the UK’s most iconic rock festival. But in practice, it’s exactly the kind of disruption District X is built for. Let’s just envision this for a moment: it is midnight before the festival has even started, pre-drinks have been going for hours and thousands of metal fans are shouting “Everybody Get Up”. Iconic, if you ask my opinion. To top this off, there’s Electric Six, a band that exists outside genre logic. Because can you imagine anything better than listening to songs called “Gay Bar” and “Danger! High Voltage”?

And since we got the important acts out of the way, then we have The All-American Rejects doing the acoustic set, DJ sets from Dick & Dom (yes, really), to members of Creeper, MODESTEP, Liam Cormier and Lucas Woodland, drag shows, live comedy, tribute acts and many many more events and activities for never-ending fun. And did we say there are also live podcasts hosting RØRY’S ADHD Love, Sappenin Podcast, and The Metal Roundup Podcast and pub quizzes? Having all this available ‘after hours’ does not mean these activities are for downtime; on the opposite, they are alternative uptime to keep people engaged every waking hour.

All of this runs parallel to the main arena that is already operating at maximum load, with headliners Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses and Linkin Park, alongside a fully stacked lineup including A Day to Remember, Scooter, Electric Callboy and BABYMETAL.

One key detail: camping is already sold out.

Final remaining weekend arena and day tickets are available at www.downloadfestival.co.uk.
