Leeds Festival 2026: Bigger Than Ever – And It Starts on a Thursday!!

Leeds Festival has never done things by halves, but 2026 marks a genuine milestone. For the first time in the festival's history, the Main Stage opens on Thursday night, giving fans an extra evening of live music and making this year's event the biggest Leeds Festival has ever staged.

It's a bold move, and who better to christen the new opening night than Kasabian? Veterans of festival fields across the world, they'll become the first band ever to headline Leeds Festival on a Thursday, with a catalogue tailor-made for a summer evening at Bramham Park. Expect thousands of voices joining together for Club Foot, Empire and Fire as the Bank Holiday weekend gets underway.

Friday raises the stakes even further. Electronic heavyweights Chase & Status bring one of the most explosive live productions in music, while Florence + The Machine return with the kind of spine-tingling, emotionally charged performance that has made them one of Britain's defining festival acts. It's a pairing that perfectly captures the breadth of Leeds Festival – huge dance anthems one minute, euphoric singalongs the next.

Saturday belongs to two artists at the very top of their game. Charli XCX arrives fresh from one of the most talked-about periods of her career, bringing her boundary-pushing pop spectacle to Bramham Park, while Fontaines D.C. complete their remarkable rise from underground favourites to bona fide festival headliners. It's a night that promises equal parts chaos, catharsis and unforgettable moments.

Closing the weekend on Sunday are Dave and RAYE, two of the UK's most critically acclaimed artists. Dave continues to redefine British rap with intelligence and honesty, while RAYE's extraordinary live performances have cemented her place as one of the country's finest vocalists. It's a fitting way to bring another Leeds Festival to a close.
