To celebrate ten years of Marshall Records, a star-studded birthday party was thrown in East London at the iconic Blondies Brewery. Latch magazine was lucky enough to be invited to see alt-pop-rockers Daytime TV as they played an intimate set of long-time favourites and exciting unreleased material.

For the event, a lineup of eclectic musicians showed the gamut of music hosted by the label. Daytime TV shone on a bill that included hardcore-punks Cancer Bats, Indie Royalty from the Soft-play guitarist-fronted Big Truck and the Grunge-Soul stylings of Ashaine White. Leaning into the heavier vibe of the evening, the band played a set that cranked up their gain as they rocked out.

Skull-shaking basslines and spiked guitars on "Lost in Tokyo" helped to show the distinctive blend of gritty alt-rock and anthemic choruses that Daytime TV are known for. Fan favourite "Anger Management" went down splendidly with the crowd, as they and the band yelled the lyrics in a moment of shared catharsis. The unreleased song "Medicate" was a stunning ballad that sounds ready-made for mass sing-alongs. The fact that unreleased songs evoked such strong reactions from the audience shows a band that is on a strong footing and will no doubt continue their ascent.

The ten-year anniversary of Marshall Records helped to show the plethora of amazing talent on the label. From seasoned headliners to emerging artists, they have managed to cultivate a label that shows an enthusiastic future for guitar music.
